Seven Days of MIS Hints & Tips from Strictly Education

From 26th April to 2nd May, we’re sharing lots of short messages about getting the best from your MIS system.

One of the most critical pieces of infrastructure in a school is its MIS system. Having an informed and well trained staff be super-users of the platform, operations in school can be optimised.

To get the week started, here’s some ideas on maximising MIS use.

Schools can best maximize their Management Information System (MIS) use by:

• Setting clear objectives: Schools should define their goals and objectives for using the MIS. This will help in identifying the specific features of the MIS that will be useful in achieving these objectives.
• Providing adequate training: Staff members responsible for using the MIS should be provided with adequate training to ensure that they are familiar with the system's features and functionality.
• Promoting data-driven decision-making: Schools should promote a data-driven decision-making culture where decisions are based on the information provided by the MIS. This will help in identifying areas that need improvement and enable the school to make informed decisions.
• Ensuring data accuracy: Schools should ensure that data entered into the MIS is accurate and up to date. This will enable the school to make informed decisions based on reliable information.
• Continuously reviewing and evaluating: Schools should continuously review and evaluate their use of the MIS to identify areas that need improvement and to ensure that the system is being used effectively.
